After 30 years in the motor sports industry, Tim Swenson changed gears a bit and decided to help disabled people have the freedom of hunting, fishing, hiking, going to the beach and other activities. Having a son in a wheel chair, Tim and wife Donna knew many others that could benefit from these freedoms. In 2008, Tim and his crew started developing an all terrain wheelchair. After months of research and development the Action Trackchair was born. You can see it here: www.actiontrackchair.com.
Demand for the Action Trackchair took off. Tim and his crew found themselves with more orders to fill than they could handle. Manual benders, hand grinders, and the old broken down bandsaw in the corner was not going to handle this type of production. This is when Tim gave Baileigh Industrial a call and shouted “HELP!”
Looking at Tim’s budget and production needs, Baileigh Industrial offered an economical production solution. Starting out with the RDB-175 tube bender for the track chair frames. A hydraulic bender with an auto stop for quick, repeatable bends. The CS-315EU cold cut saw for fast, accurate and burr free cuts. The DBG-106 offers them a nice belt and disk grinding surface for de-burring and polishing parts.
With the correct machinery in place, production is at full throttle. Tim now has had a little more time for some R & D of new products. His latest creation is just plain awesome. The new Action Track Stander helps people with disabilities stand up to participate in more activities.
“We shopped all over for metal fabrication equipment and found that Baileigh Industrial was the best for our needs. High quality, availability, Midwest distribution. They had everything our fabrication department needed. A knowledgeable staff and fast delivery as well. We currently use the tube bender, cold cut saw and grinder in our daily production. ”
